The Behavior and Training Department at the SPCA of Wake County strives to support the human/animal bond. Molly Stone, SPCA Pet Behavior Specialist evaluates the temperaments and personalities of the animals at our adoption center, and uses the Meet Your Match program.
These measures help our adoption team introduce people to the dogs with whom they're most likely to form lifelong bonds. But our work doesn't stop there. While in our care, we address various behavior needs that may develop. And, after a pet is adopted, our services are guaranteed for the life of the pet. A member of our team is available by appointment to meet with adopters after they take their new pets home in order to modify any behavior problems that may develop once the animal has left the adoption center.
Effective February 1, 2014, we will be charging a nominal fee for behavior consultations. If someone would like to meet with Molly Stone at the SPCA Adoption Center for a training or behavior modification session, the fee will be $30. If they’d prefer a home visit, the fee will be $50.
SPCA adoptions that were completed before February 1, 2014 will still be invited to take advantage of the old program, wherein post-adoption behavior services are available for a donation in the amount of the adopter’s choice.
