The Behavior and Training Department at the SPCA of Wake County strives to support the human/animal bond. Molly Stone, SPCA Pet Behavior Specialist evaluates the temperaments and personalities of the animals at our adoption center, and uses the Meet Your Match program.
These measures help our adoption team introduce people to the dogs with whom they're most likely to form lifelong bonds. But our work doesn't stop there. While in our care, we address various behavior needs that may develop. And, after a pet is adopted, our services are guaranteed for the life of the pet. A member of our team is available by appointment to meet with adopters after they take their new pets home in order to modify any behavior problems that may develop once the animal has left the adoption center. These consultations are provided at no charge, although donations to the SPCA are greatly appreciated!
If you do not adopt from the SPCA, our behavior department can still help you by answering any questions you may have about your pet's own behavior in exchange for a small donation to the SPCA of Wake County.
