Rescued! (pictured left)
She's scared, but when I reached my hand out to pet her she closed her eyes and tilted her head so I could scratch behind her ears.
This Dachshund and Papillion are two of more than a dozen dogs rescued by SPCA Wake from the Sampson County puppy mill recently in the news. On February 26, we went with The Humane Society of the United States - North Carolina to help rescue dogs in urgent need of care from a breeding facility.
Both of these dogs pictured are missing most of their lower jaws due to chronic, untreated infections and severe neglect from their owners. This is the good rescue work we are able to do because you care! Thank you.
